Cultural City - কলকাতা
When i reached kolkata on 23rd of Aug,2006 i had an internal satisfaction that i have been to all four metros in our country.
Referred to as the "Cultural Capital of India", "The City of Processions", and the "City of Joy", Kolkata has been home to luminaries such as Tagore,Bose,Swami Vivekananda,Mother Teresa and many others.
( Ganguly fans forgive me as i have not included him as he is a Living Legend ).
On the Banks of the River Hoogly Kolkata and Howrah are situated on either side.
Modes of transport : Buses, Share autos, Taxi,Metro Trains,Trams,Suburban EMU trains,Cycle rickshaws.
Sweets : Bengali Sweets -very delicious esp well known " rasagulla"

Kalighat,Victoria Mahal,Howrah Bridge,Belur Math,Eden Gardens,dakshineswar,Botanical Gardens.
Near by places: Darjeeling, Sunderbans
Famous Festival : Durga Pooja.
